The Manuscript Challenge: io ci sto! / The Manuscript Challenge: I'm in!

Non ho cercato nemmeno per un istante di resistere a "The Manuscript Challenge": Maria Neijman qualche settimana fa ha lanciato la sfida a riprodurre l'abbigliamento di un personaggio raffigurato in un manoscritto (o in altre fonti iconografiche), rispettandone dettagli e colori, entro un anno. Trovate qui le regole della sfida e qui il gruppo che è nato su Facebook per condividere i progetti e scambiarsi consigli (e sembra essere diventato la mia nuova droga, a quanto pare).
Vi presento dunque l'immagine che ho scelto: Theatrum Sanitatis della Biblioteca Casanatense, Ms.4182 tav.117, cercherò di riprodurre l'abito blu della donna che sta facendo la ricotta. Dal momento che avevo già il tessuto, 4 metri di bellissima lana da Naturduche che i miei amici mi hanno regalato per la laurea, e avevo più o meno in mente il modello che volevo, ho cercato tra le fonti italiane una che facesse al caso mio. Il modello è semplice, ma l'obiettivo sarà migliorare le mie competenze sartoriali e prestare la massima attenzione ai dettagli.

I didn't even try to resist for a second to "The Manuscript Challenge": Maria Neijman a few weeks ago challenged us to choose an outfit from a manuscript and reproduce it, respecting details and colours, within a year. You can find the rules here and the Facebook group here, where we share projects and advices (and looks like it's my new addiction).
Let me introduce you the miniature I chose: Theatrum Sanitatis from Biblioteca Casanatense, Ms.4182, tav.117: I'll try to reproduce the blue woman's dress. Since I already had some beautiful fabric, 4 meters of blue wool from Naturduche my awesome friends bought me as a gift for my graduation, and I had almost decided the shape of the dress I wanted, I searched amongst the italian sources the one for me. The dress is simple, but my main goal will be to improve my tailoring skills and pay attention to the details. I will keep blogging as soon as I go ahead with the project!
